Mathews Manor is finally back to blogging! We have had a wonderful and BUSY summer here at the Manor. We had many big weddings and events going on. Despite the smouldering heat and random rain storms, each of the weddings turned out wonderfully and all of the Brides and guests were very happy. Since there were so many weddings, we've just loaded all of the Summer's pictures into one big photo album labeled "2010 Weddings" on our Flickr account.

Prom Night and Pageant Luncheon

Last night, April 2nd, Mathews Manor was happy to host Ashville's high school prom! The theme of the night was a Mardi Gras Masquerade. Everyone looked great in their tuxes and beautiful dresses! The Dj played some great hits, and everyone had a great time! Here are some pictures of the decor we set up.

Today was the Ms. Springville Pageant Interview Luncheon. Luckily the rain has held off so the girls can go outside to get some pictures :). We set up a buffet of finger foods and delicious desserts for the contestants and judges. Here are some pics we took.

March - Redmond, Kathy and Russ, Jackson, Chace and Payton

March, along with it's unpredictable rain and crazy temperature changes, also brought with it some great parties and weddings!

On March 12th, we hosted a bridesmaid's luncheon for the Redmond party. It was a lovely afternoon! The girls dined on a delicious lunch while celebrating the bride-to-be and receiving some lovely gifts from the bride.

On March 13th the weather was a bit finicky, but nobody let it get to them! Instead, we just moved Kathy and Russ's Rebecca Gardens wedding indoors. The wedding was small and intimate, and looked absolutely gorgeous! For the reception the guests enjoyed a delicious spread of hors d'oeuvres like finger sandwiches, veggies with dip, and assorted fruits and cheeses. A bagpipe musician provided the day's entertainment as everyone celebrated! Photos from Kathy and Russ's wedding can be found on our Flickr account

March the 20th was Mrs. Jackson's 80th birthday party, given by her son Doug. She and her friends and family had a hot lunch of chicken and rice casserole with a poppy seed spring salad, corn casserole, and delicious broccoli salad. After, she blew out the candles on a two-tiered cake of her favorite, red velvet!

The evening of March 20th was the rehersal and dinner for Payton and Chace's wedding. Everyone enjoyed a slide show of cute pictures of the bride and groom-to-be, and snacked on goodies like pigs in a blanket, mini quiche, croissant sandwiches, assorted cheeses, meatballs, chicken fingers, spinach dip and cheese ball.

The 21st was Payton and Chace's wedding at Grace Hall. Everything was beautiful. The groom even surprised everyone by singing a song to his lovely bride during the ceremony! For the reception, everyone dined on a buffet table full of fresh fruit, cheeses, spinach dip, and croissant sandwiches. Lindsey and Rex 2/20/10

Saturday held a lovely afternoon wedding here at Mathews Manor. The Weather was absolutely perfect! Lindsey and Rex had a beautiful set up. We all loved the colors - purple and Ivory. Everything turned out perfectly, so here are some pictures for everyone to enjoy!

The bride's cake was white with a white fondant swag and beautiful purple and white flowers. The cake inside was Butter Cake - and it tasted delicious!

The Groom wanted Milk Chocolate cake and chocolate icing, decorated to celebrate Alabama - 2009 National Champions!

The buffet included a cheese, pickle and olive display, fresh veggies with dip, meatballs in homestyle gravy, chicken fingers with honey mustard dipping sauce, and Ham and Cheese croissant sandwiches!

The colors were so beautiful!

Open House

Mathews Manor had its open house last weekend, and it was a great turnout! Everyone really seemed to enjoy the catering samples we provided, and the cakes were a big hit as well. This was truly a great event - thanks to everyone that joined us!

Bridal Show on January 17th

Sunday was the Southern Bridal Show at the BJCC. It was wonderful! We had one of our most successful turnouts yet. They say around 1100 people were there!

Our booth looked lovely, and we were very happy about that. Everyone complimented our set up, and our cake centerpiece! We had a slideshow playing to show brides some of the beautiful things we can do in our venue, as well as large photos from some of our weddings posted up for everyone to see. There was a prize drawing, in which brides-to-be signed up to win a "surprise" gift from us. Our winners were very excited when they saw that their names had been drawn! We set up lots of appointments, and told everyone about our OPEN HOUSE *which will be on the 31st of this month!*.

We also enjoyed looking at all the other beautiful booths from the other vendors, and tasting some of the delicious catering from our fellow chefs. :) We had a great view of the fashion show, and We were even lucky enough that our booth was next to a wonderful band, Act of Congress. Overall, it was a great show! I hope that everyone else had as much fun as we did!

Tea Room open this month!

Mathews Manor is hosting our annual TEA ROOM this month! It will be open 11am-2pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in December.

Yesterday was the first day, and it was very successful! Groups of friends and family came in together and ordered some of our fantastic menu items, and had a lovely lunch :) We hope to see many more of you come in to see us! You can make a reservation for a group, or just drop by for some lunch!

October Weddings!

October gave us some beautiful weddings! Here are some pictures and a little information about each wedding and event from last month.

October 10th - Britany and Brian had a lovely ceremony inside the beautiful Grace Hall. The reception boasted a beautiful center buffet, with a vibrant floral arrangement in the center. The guests enjoyed a fresh fruit display, homemade chicken fingers, a beef carving station, spinach dip, and even a grits bar with shrimp! A favorite among the guests was a delicious chocolate punch, served with the groom's cake. Here at our flickr account are a few pictures we took of the event.

October 10th - Erin and Austin were also married that night, in the tranquil setting of Rebecca Gardens. It was a beautiful ceremony! The guests at Erin and Austin's reception enjoyed a delicious buffet with fruit, tomato bruschetta, spinach dip, hand battered chicken fingers, and fresh garden vegetables. We took some pictures, and posted them on our flickr account for everyone to enjoy!

October 17th - Marci and Tim had a lovely ceremony at the spacious Grace Hall. It was a beautiful and cool day, which made the wedding even more special. The guests during the reception enjoyed a lavish buffet that included Spinach Dip, Bruschetta, Meatballs, Spicy Chicken Bacon Wraps, Chicken Fingers, a Potato Bar, and everyone's favorite - Chocolate punch! Alyson from Eternal Reflections photography took some gorgeous photos, which can be found here on her blog. We also took some pictures ourselves, on our flickr account.

October 16th - Lindsey and Shane enjoyed their special day inside Grace Hall. Everything was decorated beautifully and the ceremony went smoothly. Their guests dined on Fresh fruit, chocolate strawberries, cheese and olives, spinach dip and a crowd favorite - homemade chicken fingers!

October 20th - Sav-a-life hosted their annual fundraising banquet in Grace Hall. Guests dined on a delicious chicken dinner, with green beans, twice baked potato, and a salad while watching videos and listening to guest speakers Jen Potter and Kristin Koning. October 24th - Autumn and Brian's wedding was a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Grace Hall's courtyard. It was a sweet ceremony, and they even had their two Sheltie Dogs in attendance, complete with Tuxedos! The reception decorations were creative and absolutely gorgeous. The guests enjoyed Mexican Dip, Fruit, Fresh Garden Veggies, Chicken Fingers, Mini Pizzas, and a Ham Carving Station. Of course, we took some pictures, so go to our flickr page to see them!

September was a month of weddings and parties galore! Here is our review of each event, as well as some pictures we wanted to share with everyone!

September 6th at Grace Hall:

Berka Engagement Ceremony - The Berka engagement ceremony was unlike anything else we've done here at Mathews Manor! It was such a beautiful event! Guests were dressed in traditional Indian attire, and enjoyed a colorful Indian ceremony,

celebrating the engagement of the future Bride and Groom. The guests dined on a lavish buffet of Indian style dishes, such as Papri Chat, Malai Chicken, Sag Paneer, and many others! After the ceremony, the Bride's sisters performed an energetic and fun dance on the stage, to honor their engagement. We were sure to take pictures, so click here to visit our album!

September 11th at Rebecca Gardens:
Tool Party Luau for Brittany and Brian - Brittany and Brian's Tool Party Luau was a big hit! Guests dined on a decorative display of Hawaiian themed foods, drank deliciously prepared Hawaiian coctails, and danced to the music of the Famed Martini Shakers! It was a great night of fun and entertainment!

September 19th at Rebecca Gardens:

Lauren and Jesse's Wedding and Reception - The ceremony was outdoors, and turned out beautifully. It was such a sweet, intimate setting! Guests enjoyed a gorgeous buffet of some of Mathews Manor's most delicious specialties : Fresh cut fruit, an Olive, Pickle, and Cheese display, homemade tea sandwiches, Cheesy Spinach dip, and homemade chicken fingers! Lauren and Jesse also opted for a Ham carving station, which the guests loved. Overall, this event was certainly one they'll always remember!

September 20th at Rebecca Gardens:

Teresa and Roger's Wedding and Reception- Teresa and Roger had a lovely day-time wedding in our Gardens. The weather was a little cloudy, but that didn't stop everyone from having a wonderful time! Everything went smoothly, and the guests enjoyed a fun-filled day of celebration. The buffet was delicious, and included suffed mushrooms, a turkey carving station, and a potato bar, as well as a coffee station complete with homemade biscotti! September 26th at Rebecca Gardens:

Taraky and John's Wedding and Reception- Taraky and John had a beautiful outdoor ceremony. It was a very successful turnout, and each guest seemed to have a wonderful time. The guests enjoyed an elegant display of some of our most delicious buffet style favorites! The set up included Coconut Shrimp with Orange Glaze, Chicken Fingers with sauce, freshly chopped garden veggies, and a Fruit display. A favorite for every guest was the amazing Fiesta Bar buffet! The fiesta bar included a "make your own Fajita" section, which had sauteed onions and peppers, fajita chicken, taco beef, cheese, sour cream, and even chips and salsa. The weekend of August 28th - 29th was a busy one for Mathews Manor. There were a total of four weddings and receptions! All were very beautiful, and we'd like to share with you the details from these special days!

August 28th - Friday
Crystal and Chris were lucky enough to get married in Mathews Manor's beautiful new venue. This lovely area is located just across the street from the main house, and is a large, beautiful meadow. Lush greenery created a natural backdrop. A magnificent tree surrounded by a marvelous stone stage held the ceremony. This area is now open to be booked for weddings! The reception was held in Grace Hall. Here are some pictures from Studio G of Crystal and Chris's wedding! Call us for more information on this wonderful new venue!

August 29th - Saturday

Sarah and Kevin were married in Grace Hall. They had a lovely ceremony and reception. They treated guests to Mathews Manor catering - Pigs in a Blanket, Mexican Dip, Chicken Fingers, as well as a potato bar and an Ice Cream Sundae bar!

Nadin and Ryan were married outdoors at Rebecca Gardens, under our beautiful gazebo. They had a lovely, intimate ceremony. The reception was indoors at the gardens, and featured a wide array of delicious foods: homemade chicken fingers, spinach dip, chicken salad croissants, and even a breakfast bar with biscuits, scrambled eggs and grits. August 30th - Sunday
Carrie and John were also married at Rebecca Gardens. They had a sweet little outdoor wedding. There was a little rain, but that didn't stop this couple from having a good time, and a beautiful ceremony under the pavillion! They had a lovely indoor reception with Fresh Fruit, Spinach Dip, homemade chicken fingers, and an assortment of cheese and olives. Conservative Patriots Club Meeting Last night

Last night here at Mathews Manor, in Grace Hall, the Conservative Patriots Club held their second ever meeting. They discussed politics, and how they can make a difference in the country in which we live!
