Busy Summer!

Mathews Manor is finally back to blogging! We have had a wonderful and BUSY summer here at the Manor. We had many big weddings and events going on. Despite the smouldering heat and random rain storms, each of the weddings turned out wonderfully and all of the Brides and guests were very happy. Since there were so many weddings, we've just loaded all of the Summer's pictures into one big photo album labeled "2010 Weddings" on our Flickr account.

Prom Night and Pageant Luncheon

Last night, April 2nd, Mathews Manor was happy to host Ashville's high school prom! The theme of the night was a Mardi Gras Masquerade. Everyone looked great in their tuxes and beautiful dresses! The Dj played some great hits, and everyone had a great time! Here are some pictures of the decor we set up.

Today was the Ms. Springville Pageant Interview Luncheon. Luckily the rain has held off so the girls can go outside to get some pictures :). We set up a buffet of finger foods and delicious desserts for the contestants and judges. Here are some pics we took.

March - Redmond, Kathy and Russ, Jackson, Chace and Payton

March, along with it's unpredictable rain and crazy temperature changes, also brought with it some great parties and weddings!

On March 12th, we hosted a bridesmaid's luncheon for the Redmond party. It was a lovely afternoon! The girls dined on a delicious lunch while celebrating the bride-to-be and receiving some lovely gifts from the bride.

On March 13th the weather was a bit finicky, but nobody let it get to them! Instead, we just moved Kathy and Russ's Rebecca Gardens wedding indoors. The wedding was small and intimate, and looked absolutely gorgeous! For the reception the guests enjoyed a delicious spread of hors d'oeuvres like finger sandwiches, veggies with dip, and assorted fruits and cheeses. A bagpipe musician provided the day's entertainment as everyone celebrated! Photos from Kathy and Russ's wedding can be found on our Flickr account




March the 20th was Mrs. Jackson's 80th birthday party, given by her son Doug. She and her friends and family had a hot lunch of chicken and rice casserole with a poppy seed spring salad, corn casserole, and delicious broccoli salad. After, she blew out the candles on a two-tiered cake of her favorite, red velvet!

The evening of March 20th was the rehersal and dinner for Payton and Chace's wedding. Everyone enjoyed a slide show of cute pictures of the bride and groom-to-be, and snacked on goodies like pigs in a blanket, mini quiche, croissant sandwiches, assorted cheeses, meatballs, chicken fingers, spinach dip and cheese ball.

The 21st was Payton and Chace's wedding at Grace Hall. Everything was beautiful. The groom even surprised everyone by singing a song to his lovely bride during the ceremony! For the reception, everyone dined on a buffet table full of fresh fruit, cheeses, spinach dip, and croissant sandwiches. Lindsey and Rex 2/20/10

Saturday held a lovely afternoon wedding here at Mathews Manor. The Weather was absolutely perfect! Lindsey and Rex had a beautiful set up. We all loved the colors - purple and Ivory. Everything turned out perfectly, so here are some pictures for everyone to enjoy!

The bride's cake was white with a white fondant swag and beautiful purple and white flowers. The cake inside was Butter Cake - and it tasted delicious!

The Groom wanted Milk Chocolate cake and chocolate icing, decorated to celebrate Alabama - 2009 National Champions!

The buffet included a cheese, pickle and olive display, fresh veggies with dip, meatballs in homestyle gravy, chicken fingers with honey mustard dipping sauce, and Ham and Cheese croissant sandwiches!

The colors were so beautiful!

Open House

Mathews Manor had its open house last weekend, and it was a great turnout! Everyone really seemed to enjoy the catering samples we provided, and the cakes were a big hit as well. This was truly a great event - thanks to everyone that joined us!
